Falcons vs. Chiefs score: Kansas City edges out Atlanta for Sunday Night Football victory
The Kansas City Chiefs continued their winning streak against the Atlanta Falcons on "Sunday Night Football."
In Week 2, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs secured a victory at Arrowhead Stadium against AFC rival Cincinnati, thanks in part to a controversial pass interference penalty that set them up for the game-winning field goal.
Week 3 brought a similar story: with the clock winding down, Kansas City's defense held strong, stopping Bijan Robinson on fourth-and-inches. This clinched a 22-17 win for the Chiefs, who are now 3-0 this season.
Once again, a pass interference call took center stage: some believed Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was interfered with by Chiefs safety Bryan Cook in the end zone during a previous Falcons possession, but the referees chose not to call it.
The Chiefs faced a formidable opponent in the Falcons. After a tough Week 1 against the Steelers, the Falcons rebounded with a last-minute win over the Eagles. Although Kirk Cousins didn’t seem quite himself, he stepped up when it mattered, connecting with Drake London for the tying touchdown, followed by Younghoe Koo’s extra point that gave Atlanta the lead.
